Model Ball Railway
Reussbühl, June 2001

13 x 20 x 10 inches (closed),
15 x 20 x 18 inches (open)

Instead of trains, on this model railway, steel balls roll on the tracks. They are pulled by electric magnets that are hidden under the landscape.

The model ball railway has six points. Three of them are randomly set (entrance to the station, between pond and house, the tunnel).

The railway has several relays, which enable two balls to run simultaneously without bumping together. For this purpose there are stops in front of the other three points to hold back one ball if the other is rolling on the rail in front of it.
